RIGHTING REAL ESTATECome home to yourself.
LETTERS FROM HOME

The Emotional Address

By Courtney Kattengell · Archive date: July 14, 2026

Sometimes the past returns because a part of you still receives mail there.

An old relationship. A former home. A version of you who was trying to be loved, chosen, safe, or enough.

The return does not always mean you want to move back. It may mean there is something waiting to be forwarded - a truth, a grief, a piece of yourself you left behind.

Ask who lived at that address. Ask what she needed. Ask whether the life you are building now still requires her old forwarding instructions.

You can honor where you lived without continuing to call it home.
